Heartwood-Brick-Red when freshly cut, darkening on exposure to an orange red or red brown with numerous yellow-brown streaks. A very popular timber for flooring throughout the Far East, Kempas has a pale pink to reddish colour with numerous yellow-brown streaks. It has a medium size graining and tends to darken slightly becoming red-brown.
